It's one of my favourite library designs, it houses an exquisite collection of manuscripts and rare prints in an airtight glass column. But it's the many rumours, that add to the mystery of this institute.

Rumour: The library’s fire-extinguishing system removes the air from the book stacks in the event of a conflagration, dooming any librarians inside to a slow death by asphyxiation.

Official answer from Yale: mostly false.
