Painting of a floppy disk. early 2000’s

– unsigned (18x18 cm)

Can we explain this relic from the early computer days to digital natives? How to describe the magnetic storage device this small painting was made after? The most common capacity of the 5 1⁄4-inch format in DOS-based PCs was 360 KB, which was subsequently bumped up to a whopping 1.44 Mb, succeeded by the 2.88 Mb, which, to no one’s surprise, was a commercial failure: who needed such massive amounts of storage?
