Ambitious initiative by by Belgian lawyers Paul Otlet and Henri La Fontaine. At the beginning of the 20th century they decided to collect all the knowledge in the world and make it searchable through one universal system. Pre internet and utterly analog precursor of Google. Luckily the collection is saved and open to the public.
