A self-taught film director, Olya entered F For Fact program with ambition of producing an epic silent drama about mysterious wild men of Europe, but ended up bewildering herself on the vast mudflats of Friesland. During the program she researched wilderness, history of noses, ancient forest deities, mutant flowers, nature blindness and planet Earth wobbling every now and then. Graduating with a film about her solo expedition to the West Pole, Olya hopes to continue her inquiry into the possibilities of critical oscillation, imaginary geographies and their dwellers.
